Lipspeaking

Steve Hudson decided to develop his services for a wider range of deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people. After undergoing further training and assessments, in 2019 he also became a Registered Lipspeaker on the NRCPD National Register to add to his repertoire. Being on this Register means that Steve follows their Code of Conduct which includes specific duties regarding confidentiality and holds an Enhanced DBS check for the Quality Assurance of all participants.

For your Lipspeaking bookings, Steve can work face-to face or online (eg: Zoom, MS Teams etc). Whilst predominantly working across Greater London and Kent for face-to-face bookings, he is happy to travel further afield if required.

Booking direct means that you avoid paying agency fees etc.

General Information about Lipspeaking

A Lipspeaker is a hearing person who has been professionally trained to be easy to lipread. They will reproduce the rhythm, tone and flow used by the speaker, supporting their meaning with gesture, facial expression and, if required, finger spelling and/or supporting signs.

Lipreading can be very tiring for the lipreader so it is essential to use a professional who has been trained to lipspeak clearly.
